"This is a book I would hope everyone will read!
Laynie is brilliant in her methods and articulating a path into empowering women to truly own their financial circumstance - and to then set the goal to reach a level of incredible prosperity. It's wonderful and hugely important, to recognize your self-worth is ultimately your net worth.
For many of us, this is a new perspective about vulnerability, and the assertiveness around our financial needs and boundaries that lead to our financial success. Laynie makes you think; she's accessible and challenging in a good way. She presents to you with clarity, and approaches the vulnerable aspects of navigating through these times, and easy steps to build that foundation that removes all doubt.
A MUST read!"
"I really enjoyed reading this book, not only was it very easy to read and well written, It also brought a deep awareness of how my self-worth is directly related to financial worth. It's full a great tips and I would recommend it to anyone looking to build financial freedom in today's world."
"This book will completely transform the way you think about money. We tend to forget that the $5-6 we spend at Starbucks adds up. With Laynie's guidance, I see now that if I took that $6 and put it towards achieving my personal financial goals, I would be in a better place financially (plus I would be healthier and weigh less). You've gotta check out the Financial Checklist on page 105. It gives you a monthly roadmap on simple and practical steps to take to make sure you get your finances in order. Chapters 7 "Set Financial Goals" and Chapter 8 "Assess Your Spending Habits" were the most transformative chapters for me. They helped me face the music and realize that "keeping up with the Jones" and spending money without a budget were the root causes of my current financial distress. Listen, if you guys are considering reading this book, JUST DO IT! It's worth every penny and minute of your time."
"Self worth is directly correlated with net worth". I enjoyed that this book isn't a get rich or "make it look easy" type of narrative. This is real life stuff that we as women go through. It's an honest account of past mistakes and neccesary steps taken to get moving in the right direction, not just financially, but also in life. I appreciated especially the chapters that walk you through actionable saving and spending insights. This would be a great read for women who need to develop a financial plan or who need to discover that they are powerful."
"A straight forward, realistic approach to managing your own finances! Laynie was able to sum it all up in an easy to understand language that will empower women to not be afraid of wealth- just embrace it! Knowledge is power and Laynie provided the knowledge! Thank you for putting this out there!"
At a time when being oppressed is the fashion du jour, along comes someone who speaks truth, from experience, in such a personal and transparent way. Laynie’s epiphany that 'Anytime we are in a victim mentality, we lose productivity... It means we are focused on the wrong things, and as a result, we produce nothing useful' is counter-cultural and so insightful. Building on this theme, the chapter on Find Your Voice should be a clarion call for anyone wanting more and willing to work for it.
Laynie shares how she learned that 'sometimes our weaknesses are also our strengths.' Throughout the book you're reminded that financial success is preceded by thinking and more often by learning to 'unthink' things that were never true. Do not be fooled by what a quick read it is. If anything, that is the book's greatest strength. Whether you're timid around believing you can or stuck in perfectionism, this book is for all personality types. My favorite line was: ‘When you let go of what is no longer working or serving you, you can finally begin to become all that you are meant to be.’ It reminded me of the saying, “A designer knows they have achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” --Antoine de Saint-Exupery. The action plan in the appendix is deceptively simple but extremely well thought out and likely to lead to success. Laynie, this book is such an elegant and powerful example of you leaning into your stated goal for Sophia: modeling by actions. Well done!"
